Tesla, Inc. TSLA chief executive officer Elon Musk has made green energy one of the main focuses of its business activities. His EV business is a testament to his commitment to protecting the environment. Musk said in a tweet on Friday that he sees solar power as the main source of energy for humanity in the future.
His comments came in the form of a tweet quoting a graphic shared by “World of Engineers” which said the area of the Sahara Desert alone is enough to power the world with solar energy.

Musk has expressed similar views in the past. In an October 2020 tweet, he suggested that the free fusion reactor in the sky, an apparent reference to solar power, converts around four million tons of mass into energy every second. Only a tiny amount of this energy needs to be captured to power all of civilization, he added.
During Tesla’s fourth quarter earnings call last January, Musk suggested the company would ramp up its solar and power storage business in 2022.
Tesla closed Friday’s session down 3.12% at $696.69, while after-hours stock added 1.91% to $710, according to Benzinga Pro.
